Gordon's Pink Gin Review

Hello Jin lovers and welcome back to no nonsense Jin reviews with me Bobby Freeman the only channel on YouTube wake and what a man in a red shirt talk about gin till the cows come home and I just have a quick look around yep there is a distinct lack of any animal or beast of bovine persuasion so we shall crack on my friends now then what is that thing doing on my channel I hear you ask because a lot of my regular viewers will know that I am NOT a fan of this monstrosity because this my friends is our Gordon's gin was it called Gordon's premium pink distilled gin I don't really want to spend too much time touching it now let me just if you haven't watched my channel before never just get fill you in a little bit I am NOT a fan of the Gordon's here on no-nonsense gin reviews I've said many times before they are not I don't want to go too negative on the but basically they're not a great gym but the reason I do get so wound up about them is that they are everywhere they are like the sort of oval of the evil overlords of gin that wherever your sewage in you will see this in fact for many years that there's pretty much the dreaded that the only gin that people drank what it sort of all the masses I would say the majority of people because whenever you went to pub that was very often certain in a small village I grew up it was very often the only gin that you ever saw so if you want the gin tonic you've got Gordon's so again I don't want to go too much into this but that's the reason I get wound up because they are ubiquitous they're everywhere they're ruling the roost they have done for many years but the tragedy is they're not very good in fact I would say they were bad now haven't reviewed a couple of that to a two or three how many definitely to the original Gordon's one to the Gordon's elderflower one I think maybe that's it maybe there's no maybe there wasn't anyway they have another gin okay they've produced a pink one in line with many other gin companies which are doing the same thing at the moment for example beefy I don't think I've got it off drunker or Beefeater did it do a pink gin which is a strawberry Jim which is absolutely delicious I mean be careful if you start drinking because you won't want to stop it's very very nice what other pink ones all brokers of course up there brokers do a pink gin absolutely spectacular king of Soho one tastes like strawberries and cream I mean out of this world strawberries goes very very well with gins so what what do we have here well I shall tell you my friends this is Gordon's attempt at a pink gin now that let's have a look at not very much about it on the website all it says is it says inspired by the original Gordon's recipe from the 1880s well it's not a very good start straightaway godness pink is perfectly crafted really to balance the refreshing taste of burdens with the natural sweetness of raspberries and strawberries wow that doesn't sound too bad isn't it apart from the fact that it's basically just Gordon Smith some flavors I heard on with the tang of red currant served up in a unique blushing toe which is kind of mean literary but they're very often a bit sort of flamboyant with their language or all the jins' I mean that so we'll let that go made using only natural fruit flavors to guarantee the highest quality of real berry taste okay that right I think it's important my ranting is over now my rant is over for the video I think it's important to try as I always do when I've previously applied to try the gin that don't like let's try and cast all these miss preconceptions aside and try and treat it as just another Jim because who knows who knows Bombay Sapphire surprised me the other week with their own Bombay original jug really really sort of I keep Gordon's and Bombay Sapphire very much in the same camp and always have them haven't liked any of the Bombay Sapphire however they pulled it out the bag with their original gin so who knows let's hope that you know something positive can come out of this sort of a dirty murky pool of negativity that is Gordon's gin so as always let's have a little sniff of the fellow shall we know corks that's disappointing straight away but never mind right good Lord above okay its exploit it smells like it's like cordial you know i extremely concentrated let me have another look I'm quite shocked about it extremely that those flavors we talked about the strawberries and the berries it's extremely strong strongest sort of smelling of sort of flavors I've ever had from a dinner thing bordering on like like jelly or jello as my American friends would say when you I sort of put it in the bowl when you're making it you put that sort of like that you know they've got the raw dairy you put it in with the hot water that lovely smell you get off it it's kind of like that I'd say it's not too bad I do worry though however once it's so strong so consecrated is it gonna move too far away from being a gym because this is the risk they always run with these like all novelty gins or fruit gins and is that they actually move away from what gin is ie juniper a Juniper based spirit Brockman's did do that a little bit but it was what very very nice if I thinks it reminds me a little bit of the problem and anyway let's get the old fella in the glass shall we so a little bit of a pore is it gonna be a clean pore Oh squeaky-clean beautifully yeah very nice let's get the old tonic in there lovely cold tight today as ever because it's another boiling hot day here in London so a lovely cold tonic what do we think bit strong I reckon here little bit more in there there we go right then okay preconceptions I'll just take them over there and put them over there I'll see you later perhaps let's give this a neutral view coming to it absolutely anew I've never tried a gauze before and I'm just gonna try it like it's something completely fresh right here we go mm-hmm now this is interesting okay because initially okay initially I'm kind of confused by this I go it's cut it's not actually that bad it's not that bad okay okay it's it's quite a pleasant fruity flavor but let me have another guys we know he always takes two or three ready to settle into well do you know what it's not I would say it's the least bad gordon's I've ever had it's actually the flavors were actually work really well okay I thought it was going to be too much so it's gonna be too concentrated but those berries and the strawberries come through really really nicely in there actually quite nicely balanced the my own and the good thing I think the best thing about it is it cuz it is the original Gordon's recipe but with these and flavors bolted on so what I'm trying to say is these flavors are so strong that they actually mask almost completely the unpleasantness of the Gordon's Jim so that's kind of a backhanded compliment I think really yeah one more go yeah now I'm getting it more now and getting it more now I would say any of the Gordon's if I had to choose right they put a gun to my hands and you've got you've gotta drink some Gordon's which you know unlikely but you never know um I would say this is the one to go for I'm enjoying this the most out of all of them all sort of them finding it the least unpleasant it's it's sort of a mum you do get after three goes that first of all ours I just sort of got overwhelmed by the bit that so the pleasantness of Lowe's berry flavors I mean who's not going to like strawberry and sort of red berry it's it's it's a great combination but when you actually have a two or three sips you do kind of get particularly the aftertaste that kind of unpleasant sort of Gordon's flavor now I do admire Gordon's for trying different things I do admire them but I really think if I was going to give them a some advice you basically got something that was not very good in the first place you know around since 1880 for goodness sake so you know back then but perhaps that was good but that was okay when you know sort of palates weren't perhaps soda saying there wasn't so much choice of gin now things have moved on and there are a lot of gins on the market as you all know and and they are really up to their game the gin market and the jeans new especially these new distillers they have upped their game I think perhaps rather than trying when you're trying to broaden your selection which they've done I think maybe they need to go back to the drawing board and start a new start afresh use all that experience that you've got Gordon's that years and years of experience and rather than trying to reinvent what you've already got start something new clear the slate clear the drawing board and start something here because I think with all that experience you could probably do something spectacular look a lot of gyms have done it you know sort of Tanqueray start to get you know so use they although that's that's not really a fair comparison because they do base it on their original recipe but I think you could do it I think I'm not gonna be too negative because I have slide you off pretty harshly in the past but I'm gonna try and be positive and say look this is the nice try very good try I like the idea and I admire put in the these barriers in and it's not that bad but why don't you go away start again and just start with something make something completely completely new and special and good because I think you could do it and I will love I will I will be the first to try it and if it's good I shall literate I will I will dance around Trafalgar Square naked pouring a bottle it over my head I may live to regret that promise but yeah that's my promise to you so um price-wise that's it you've got it you gotta admit I've got to hand the Tim it's bloody tea but it's very very it's about 15 16 pounds this which is about 80 and a half dollars that's pretty cheap Jim that is pretty cheap and if you're gonna get a gordon's then I would suggest you get that one that that's pretty good value for money it's not gonna be the greatest gin in the world but I do like it more than the original also guys don't forget
